UI and Sound

This next batch of mods makes Morrowind more dynamic and varied. Skip any you don't like, especially if you are worried about fps.

There's no right or wrong here, skip, choose other, or none! I've picked those closest to vanilla but when I want something fresh I go for this combo:

or

Title Screen and Logo Video Intro Reworked by Phobos90 HD recreation of the Title and Logo Intro, in widescreen.

Morrowind UI Revamped by jiffyadvent

Main Theme: Classic

Crosshair: dot

Crosshair size: 50% smaller

Cursor size: Default

Mod patches: Scroll - Daedric Alphabet Patch

Sig's Magic Icons [blue] [orange] by MiroslavXO and Sigourn

I tweaked the textures to get an orange colour closer to the MW palette. Pick either :)

Required for a bunch of other mods

Move your health bar, maps, and any other UI elements where you want them.

Seph's Enemy Bars by Sephumbra

Fully customisable

Especially useful for extra readability in your inventory.

Clocks by Wisp, tweaked by Abot

Original mod is here. Always know what time it is in game and/or in life.

Know at a glance when an NPC is essential and if you're spotted while sneaking.

HUD weapon charge by Virnetch

See at a glance if your enchanted weapon is drained.

Keeps track of your active spell effects.

Dynamically changes the local map markers to make them more helpful.

Soul Gem indicator by JosephMcKean

An icon widget showing what is the tier soul gem you hold in your inventory.

Right-click on Data Files, select "Create directory" and name it "fonts"

Move the daedric_font.fnt and daedric_font_obw.tex files inside your new fonts folder.

Do NOT select anything but your new fonts folder.

Better Readable Beauty Font by Hrnchamd and Baszermaszer

Cut Bethesda Splash Screens by Bethesda & Ragox

Select MANUAL installation

Tick "Splash" and nothing else.

right-click to create a directory and name it "splash"

expand the konradmw-splashfargoth- 1.0

find "Splash_Fargoth.tga and drag it into your new splash folfer.

These files exactly replace the original vanilla splash screens, providing versions that are in 16:9 format. This way, those using widescreen monitors do not have to suffer looking at "stretched" splash screens.

See your splash screens while loading cells instead of a black screen. Especially good if not running Morrowind on an SSD.

Tidy Charsheet by Petethegoat

Convenient placement of birthsign, bounty, and factions.

Highly customizable, pluginless MWSE mod that adds popup notifications when you start or finish a quest. Styled after the quest notifications from Skyrim. Works with both Vanilla and mod quests.

Adds an achievement system to the stats screen, along with a corner popup akin to Steam's achievement system.

Uses SafeBox's Achievement Framework to add 75 achievements for Morrowind/Tribunal/Bloodmoon. Requires MWSE.

🥁 SOUNDSCAPE

A lot of the greetings are now voiced. I prefer to use voices sparsely so they still have an impact, but if you want all lines to dialogue voiced, skip this and pick the next mod.

Kezyma's Voices of Vvardenfell by Kezyma & Tewlwolow

Still a WIP, more and more npcs are covered over time. It has an option for "Greetings only". The difference with Quest Voice Greetings is that the greetings are spoken when you open the dialogue, while Vonwolfe makes them happen as you stand and look at the NPC.

Check the following option(s):

Adds NPC preachers to temples across Vvardenfell reading aloud the voice recordings of 36 Lessons of Vivec.

Download directly into MO2/Downloads

Expand the esp folder and navigate to 05 Preachers Temples Only

drag "sermons_preachers_RandomTemplesOnly.esp" into the Data Files above.

Right-click on Data Files and select set as <data files> directory.

Back on the left pane, find 36 Lessons of Vivec and double click.

Click on the Filtree tab

Expand Meshes > AM and delete AM_Book.nif

Traders now make a comment after a transaction.

Idle Talk by Von Djangos

Idle npcs have more things to say.

Gares Last Gasp by Von Djangos

Makes the reveal and death of Dagoth Gares more cinematic, using custom voices and animations.

Pick "Gares Last Gasp - New Ilunibi version" for this mod if you have New Ilunibi.

Ashlander Voices by Von Djangos

Adds 130 new voice greetings to the Ashlanders, made using ElevenAI.

Nordic Banter by VonDjangos

Nord male smiths may comment on the weapon you have readied.

Aura by Tewlwolow & Stanliqubit

Select all options (00, 01, 02, 03)

Voice Overhaul by Phoenix Rime

NPCs use most of the vanilla lines that weren't heard before.

Footstep and armour sounds vary on the type of boots and terrain and a dozen more sounds are updated.

Impact Sounds by Archimag/AxeMagister

Sounds when weapons hit surfaces.

Use version 1.2 or, if using the latest version disable Character Sound Overhaul above. I am happy with CSO and I have not tested the latest version (2+) of Impact Sounds.

More screaming and crying sounds for Corprus Stalker and Lame Corprus. Quite horrible, you feel the pain these poor souls are in. Skip if it's too much, Aura already has a sound replacer for corpus creatures.

Friends Reunited by Von Djangos

Certain events, usually when the player reunites friends or lovers, will now play a voiced conversation between those two NPCs.

Haunted Barrows by Melchior Dahrk

Proper creepy sound in Barrows.

Check the following option(s):

Heartthrum by RedFurryDemon and OperatorJack

Hear the Heart of Lorkham as you get closer to it.

Hear the sound of the door closing behind you.

Sheathe Your Weapon by Von Djangos

Guards will tell you to sheathe your weapon if you have it out. If you ignore their second warning, they'll attack.

In MO2, select manual installation

Expand Sheathe your Weapon, then Compatibility Patches and Main Mod.

Drag Yet Another Guard Diversity - Regular.esp into Main Mods

Right-click on Main Mods, click <set as data files directory

Assassins don't taunt as much.

Right-click Data Files, select "set as <data Files> directory, click OK.

Right-click Data Files, select "set as <data Files> directory, click OK.

If you find Aura replacer too soft and gentle (it is quite subdued), this one is for you. You feel properly miserable if you are caught in a storm. Great with mods like Ashfall.

Right-click Data Files, select "set as <data Files> directory, click OK.

Tunnel Cough by R-Zero

Water Sounds by Abot

Makes the fake water used in TR sound like real water

This mod adds ambient crowd sounds to most of Morrowind's populated places.

Right-click Data Files, select "set as <data Files> directory, click OK.
